The Do’s and Don’ts of Skateboard Helmets
Wearing the right helmet is key for safety. Use only approved skateboard helmets. Other helmets, such as bicycle helmets, are designed to take impact differently and offer other areas of protection.
Skateboard helmets help make skateboarding safe.
Helmet Safety Checklist
• Check the safety sticker inside the helmet and make sure it’s an approved helmet.
• No cracks, dents or damage.
• Pads should touch cheeks and forehead. Back of helmet should touch nape of neck.
• One finger should fit under the chin strap. Helmet should be snug and comfortable
• Helmet side straps should form a V-shape around each ear
• Helmets should sit two figures above the eyebrow.
• No hats, except for a liner or thin shell.
• No high ponytail.
• No decorating helmets with paint or stickers.
